SubEasy ("we", "our") provides a free auto subtitle generator at subeasy.hardtoeasy.com. This policy explains what the site does and does not collect, how cookies are used, and how third-party advertising works here. The short version: your videos are transcribed entirely inside your browser, and we never receive them.
Your videos never leave your device
When you drop a video into SubEasy, it is decoded and analyzed locally on your own computer or phone using an AI speech-recognition model that runs in your browser. No video file, audio stream, thumbnail, or subtitle text is uploaded to our servers, because we do not operate any server that receives videos. There is nothing to intercept, store, or leak. Closing the tab erases the working copies from your browser's memory.
Information we do not collect
- We require no accounts, so we collect no names, usernames, or passwords.
- We do not collect email addresses unless you contact us yourself (see below).
- We never receive, store, or analyze your videos, audio, or subtitle contents.
- We do not build profiles of users or track your subtitle history.
Information we do collect
Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data for security and reliability: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data lives in short-term, aggregate logs and is never linked to your videos or used for profiling.
If you email us at [email protected], we keep your message and address only as long as needed to answer your inquiry and improve the service. We never sell or share contact emails with third parties.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser cookies and local storage for a small set of functions: remembering your language and display preferences, and caching the AI model files so repeat visits work faster (and can work offline after the first load). You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the core subtitle tool keeps working, though some preferences will not persist between visits.
Third-party advertising
We display advertisements served by Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-1597708697176926) to keep SubEasy free. Google uses cookies — including the Google advertising cookie — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. This is known as interest-based (personalized) advertising.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet. Data security
The site is served over HTTPS, and because your videos are processed locally, there is no video database to breach. The limited technical data we do hold is protected with standard hosting-level safeguards.
Children's privacy
SubEasy is a general-audience tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
